NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES BOOST DPOs

The National Commission for Person's with Disabilities has on Monday the 4th June, 2018 boost Disable Persons Organizations (DPO's) with financial support as a footpath to upkeep their developmental strives to ensure that Persons with Disabilities in Sierra Leone are motivated to be in line to maintain sustainable developments in their respective localities.

The chairperson at the occasion Madam Beatrice Koroma, a lecturer at the Makeni University College, who doubles as Northern Regional Coordinator for Persons with Disabilities welcomed stakeholders to the regional office of Persons with Disabilities, and warmly thanked them for making it to Makeni to actualize the donations process to reach beneficiaries.

Speaking at the occasion the President of SLUDI, Santigie Kargbo applauded DPO's especially the Northern wing for their continual hard work in keeping the hopes of Persons with Disabilities in the country alive and furthermore admonished DPO's to continue keeping the Peace and to inculcate the ideas of keeping away from all forms of propaganda and blame casting against Disabilities organizations and leaders but ensure that they inculcate and strengthen unity including the ideology for the betterment of disability issues.

The donation was then done by Fredrick J.M Kamara the Chairman and Chief Commissioner of the Sierra Leone for Persons with Disabilities to three DPOs in check worth a sum of fifteen Million Leones (15,000000.

Commissioner Kamara revealed that several DPOs submitted their projects proposal and after through scrutiny Vision for the Blind, Action for women with Disability and Bombali Association for the Deaf and emerged victorious bagging home with the sum of Le 5,000000 each.

Commissioner Kamara further stressed that beneficiaries are expected to judiciously utilize the collected sum for the benefit of their member and therefore called for the sustainability of the projects as the commission looks forward for government interventions in supporting the dare need of persons with disabilities.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
