MAGISTRATE FORNAH REMANDED FAO DRIVER

At the jam-pack magistrate court in Makeni, the presiding magistrate John Manso Fornah remanded Abass Jah Turay, a resident of No 11 Chicko drive in Waterloo, according to court evidence revealed that Abass Jah Turay is a driver attached to the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and was charged with the offence of Dangerous driving contrary to section 99 (1) C of the road traffic Act No 5 of 2007.

According to police source, it was disclosed that Abass Jah Turay was driving a Toyota Hilux Jeep belong to Food and Agricultural Organization and was heading to Makeni from Magburaka when he knocked a pedestrian that resulted to his untimely death.

Michael Foday, a school teacher at Rogbonko Village informed the police that he was at the scene of the accident and he saw the accused Abass Jah Turay was coming from Magburaka to Makeni with an high speed and on the verged wanted to over take another vehicle from the same direction when he sudden hit the young boy that resulted to his untimely death.

The accused Abass Jah Turay, in his statement to the police, he said he was heading for Makali in the Kunike Chiefdom, Tonkolili District together with his boss Jahanese Hinga Beah and arriving at Magburaka they were informed that the payment voucher has been taking away by Mr. Dennis Paul to Makeni and immediately his boss instructed him to go back to Makeni to collect it and on his way he encountered the unfortunately accident.
