21 YEARS JAIL FOR BOY LOVER

Edward Turay of 38 Conteh street in Makeni in Bombali District has been sentence to twenty one year’s jail by Justice Ibrahim Mohamed Koroma for three counts charges ranging from wounding with intent contrary to Section 18 of the offence against the person Act 1816 and count two, wounding contrary to Section 20 of the offence against the person Act 1816 and count three Assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to Section 47 of the offence against the person Act 1816.

According to the complainant Adamsay Turay, revealed in court presided over by Justice Ibrahim Mohamed Koroma that the accused Edward Turay was her former boy lover but noted that they have separated from months.

She recalled that on the 1st of August 2018, she went to Albert Street in Makeni and while she was watching film with her friends, she saw the accused Edward Turay who ceremoniously surface and forcefully gripped her.
She reiterated that during the struggle between her and the accused, she saw the accused Edward Turay immediately removed a razor blade from his pocket and immediately started to tearing her body resulting to her profusely bleeding.

The accused after listen to the complainant testimony pleaded guilty and asked the court for mercy to tamper with justice but was rejected by justice Ibrahim Mohamed Koroma on the ground that the offence committed was felonious by law and therefore sentence the accused Edward Turay to twenty one year’s jail to be run concurrently.
