❗Stop the Nuisance... SLAJ is a composition of Professionals that are like minded and it's not for all Jack and Jean🙌🏾

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson - (AR-Wilson)✍️ My attention has been drawn to some group of  individuals parading social media with post bearing the name of our elite Association, on the pretext of flexing their fingers into an affair they are not entitled to. Let me remind such individuals that SLAJ is a  professional body Endowed with like-minded and Multifaceted Personalities with the sole aim of elevating it's membership capacities and matching it's association to modern ones for the good of It's Members, and the voiceless fellow countrymen. Inline with the above, as one amongst the barrage of the like-minded Members of our dearest Association, who is well grounded with the codes and ethics of practices of this noble profession of ours, I am on behalf of colleagues warning non-members of the Association to stop mimicking and poking into SLAJ related issues for we have reliable and legitimate leadership as lead regulators of our affairs. ‼️The unique royal disposition of the Sesay dynasty.

By : Ibrahim Jallloh - ( Jalllomy )✍️ Death swopped in the royal dynasty of the Sesay ruling clan and brought to an abrupt end the rule and reign of the late PC and Hon. Member of Parliament the late Hon. Kandeh Wusu Sesay. It was dramatic, shocking and gripped his family members, friends and subjects in utter disbelief and awe. The late Paramount Chief has been sick but on intermittent bases for a while until lately when he was flown to India on account of our collapsed medical regime in Sierra Leone. The late Paramount Chief was a combination of a cluster of things that typified or characterized the good life, the cheerfulness of humanity and the humourous nature of man mostly lacking in traditional African leaders. He was down to earth, unassuming, over consultative, compassionate, philanthropic, and a master of the art of lowliness and humility. Not suprisinly, he inherited these traits and identity symbols from his late father, PC Kandeh Wusu Sesay 1. His father w...

Journalism: a Living Tool to End Inequalities and Fraudulent Activities!!!

👉Health Newspaper, Investigation team Reveals: What a Disrespectful MD At Keystone Bank? The Sierra Leone print media have often been bashed by officials in both the public and private sectors for not crosschecking stories that affect their institutions before going to press. This is the general perception of most of these public and private sector officials, especially those who, for whatever reason(s), loathe the media through and through. Despite conscious efforts by journalists to crosscheck their information on professional grounds before going to press, their efforts are being frustrated by some arrogant, loud and aggressive executive officials who become jittery over the press because they have skeletons in their cupboards which they always hide from the general public. In this edition, we carried a story on Keystone Bank with regards its treatment of eight members of staff it accused of conniving to defraud the Bank. The Bank Management consequently reported the matte...

‼️Double Dipping: an Excellent Waste of Government Resources, Makeni City Council Calls to Action.

By : Ibrahim Jalloh - (Jallomy)✍️ Unfinished and sub standard projects were frowned at and are being frowned at. The former president Koroma was emphatically serious about correcting that anomaly but forces around him supplanted that. The manner in which development projects are being implemented is outrageous and deceiving. Most projects implemented are either unfinished or sub standard. One such example is the Conteh Street Culvert. This Culvert is a good example of excellent waste. The Conteh Street Culvert ruptures few months after it was commissioned. Why: Sub standard work. Why Sub standard work: monitoring was either lacking or compromised. Why: the construction company, Polly Construction, takes ownership identity from a known stakeholder and then power broker. Just few weeks ago, Makeni City Council tendered for the reconstruction of the ruptured culvert. This is outrightly wrong. Those responsible must answer few questions. This is an era of accountability....

‼️Wusum Stadium Fence Suffers Second Collapse

By : Alusine Rehme Wilson – (AR-Wilson)✍🏾 One of the oldest mini stadium in the country: Wusum Stadium that has been up and running since the 1990s fence has on the 14th May 2019 suffered a second collapse due to it age long dilapidated status. The Prestigious Wusum Mini Stadium that is situated in the heartbeat of the northeast region and district headquarters: Makeni City, in the Bombali District for over two and half decades now, has been of immense use to the people of the North and the entire country by extension. Sources indicates that Wusum mini stadium, since the 1990 in the notable days of President Joseph Saidu Momoh, has benefited from successive interventions of huge financial and moral support from well wishers, Politicians, sports followers and other Philanthropists in the country but its current state seem worrisome as voiced by journalists, sports followers and other Sierra Leoneans. It is also clear that on successive occasions the stadium raises...

‼️"Catholic Church Curtails Collection"

By : Ibrahim Jalloh - (Jallomy)✍🏾 "The Catholic Archbishop of Freetown says it is unacceptable to engage in post-communion fundraising activities "that go on for an unduly long time than it prescribed by the liturgical norms." In a letter to priests in charge of Catholic communities and chaplains, Archbishop Edward Tamba Charles has urged them to stop fundraising activities like "pin a friend, person of the year competitions accompanied by  collection", describing them as an abuse for Mass." The outspoken Archbishop said "we have imported those practices from elsewhere and introduce them into the celebration of the mass , especially at annual thanksgiving celebrations, without proper reflection on their effect on the Eucharist or authorization by the diocesan authorities."  He said the church was not against fundraising activities, the proceeds of which are used to support development projects which is why the " Catholic Church In Sier...

‼️The Bintumani 3 Question: A Governance Tourism or Search for National Identity?

By : Ibrahim Jalloh - (Jallomy)✍🏾 The Bintumani 3 national conference is upon us. A situation that was largely speculative and incredibly controversial is now a reality. The reason and reasoning for Bintumani 3 is predictably sound and informed by historic and contemporary happenings. Admittedly, the small West African State of Sierra Leone is on the brink. What brought a seemingly innocent and resilient nation to this unpardonable state can be found in a confounding contradiction of deflated mindset and a classic awkward attitude. A handful Civil Society groups, some private citizens and the main opposition party were and still in denial of the urgent and compelling need for a national dialogue. Their reasons are not only narrow but shallow and run the risk of being dismissed as interested based and institutional specific. Mercilla Samba of the Campaign for Good Governance (CGG) was deceitfully off tune and in complete disconnect with the reality of Bintumani 3. H...

❗SLMU on New Strides… ‼️Interim Committee Determine!

By : Alusine Rehme Wilson – (AR-Wilson)✍🏾 Entertainment has added value to investments, encouraged foreign collaborations, boost the GDPs and Economies of many nations unlike a nation like Sierra Leone which is full of untapped talents and multi-talented personalities, where Entertainment is on a glamorous increase, but for so many reasons ranging from personal to extra personal reasons, most Entertainers especially Musicians of the developing West African Nation has realized little or no benefit of its enormous Entertainment gains despite efforts made by liberally minded few to help add value to the country’s music sector for several decades now have proved futile. Seemingly, the newest strides from the Sierra Leone Musicians Union – (SLMU) Interim Executive is on a revamp of a robust and forever strategically placed union for the country’s music sector to have a nationally recognized and legally backed democratic steering committed to run its a...

‼️THE ROLE OF THE COMMONERS DURING THE REIGN OF PRESIDENT KOROMA

By : Sahr J. Bangah✍🏾 As the name implied “COMMONERS” they were like chief minister to former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and were highly respected. It’s interesting to note that most of the so-called commoners came during the political harvest time and succeeded to pave their way in the political lime light of the Ernest Bai Koroma government under the name of childhood connectivity. Some of the commoners (chief advisers) were political prostitutes during the early days of president Koroma struggled for presidency but resurfaced immediately when President Koroma took an oath of office as President of the republic of Sierra Leone. The commoners succeeded to win the heart of President Koroma during his second term of office because the president too believed in the doctrine of “connectivity” the concept of connectivity was misunderstood by the average commoners who later became more of a contractors than an advisers to the President Ko...

"Catholic Church Curtails Collection"

By: Ibrahim Jalloh - (Jallomy) ✍️ Below is an interesting piece copied verbatim from the Poliitico Newspaper edition of Tuesday, May 14 2919 as titled above. APC COMMONERS FRUSTATES BOMBALI YOUTH

By Sahr J. Bangah It’s no more a secret that the eleven years reign of former President Ernest Bai Koroma was engulf by closest friends commonly known as “COMMONERS”. The commoners where comprises of APC and SLPP members but sad to note that immediately when president Koroma took oath of office in 2007, all the commoners declared their support to APC in the name of coming to support their “brother” president Koroma with out realizing that these so-called group have their different agenda. President Koroma entrusted them so much and make them as his “blue eye’s boys” but little did he knows that most of the “Commoners” were contractors seeking for government contracts in his name to an extend establishing a diaspora office in Freetown in order to create connectivity with the presidency but in return, this group was extorting monies in dollars from the pockets of the diaspora people who may wish to see the president both for national and personal. CSPHRS Frowns at the Attack on the Person of Mrs. Marcella Samba-Sesay

CSPHRS Press Release on the Attack on the Person of Mrs. Marcella Samba-Sesay.                    It has come to the attention of Center for Strategic, Peace and Human Rights Studies (CSPHRS) that a social media post attacking the personality of Mrs. Samba-Sesay of the Campaign for Good Governance (CGG) for expressing her views in a radio show program hosted by 98.1 Radio Democracy has received wide circulation. We are concerned that no attempt has been made by the government and the SLPP to dissociate from such post. The content of the post is not only primordial but also contradicts efforts by the SLPP led government of Sierra Leone to rebrand Sierra Leone and curb Gender and Sexual Based Violence.                            One of the tenets of democracy is free ...
