AS 6 YEARS MINOR TESTIFIES… SEXUAL PENETRATION CASE GOES TO HIGH COURT

The presiding Magistrate at the Makeni magistrate court, Peter Gogra on Tuesday 13th August 2019 ruled that accused Alpha Ibrahim Kamara has a case to answer on allegations levied against him for having  sexually intercourse with a six years old minor.


The accused Alpha Ibrahim Kamara was arraigned before Magistrate Peter Gogra on three charges ranging from sexual penetration of a child contrary to Section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act No 12 of 2012, Meeting a Child for Sexual Purpose contrary to Section 23(1) (a) of the Sexual Offences Act No 12 of 2012 and Sexual Touching Contrary to law.

According to evidence in court, it was revealed that the accused on diverse dates between 1st May 2019 and 31st  May 2019 in Makeni, Bombali Judicial District had sexual intercourse with the six years old minor by forceful means and later threatening if she explained to anyone  definitely she will be killed by him.

The six years minor also testified in court that one fateful day she was sitting in the parlor when the accused called her with the pretext to send her when she came to answer the accused called and to her dismayed the accused grabbed her and immediately removed her cloth and later had sexual intercourse. She noted that immediately after that sexual intercourse she saw blood oozing from her legs but the accused later used his T-shirt and wiped it out. 

She recalled in another event when her parent including family members were out of home, the accused rushed at her and took her in to his room where he sexually abuse her and later ask if the sex was sweet.

She concluded that after the sexually intercourse she suffered severe pain but fear to tell her parent because the accused had already threaten to kill her if she revealed the secret  not until her mother notice her health deterioration
