MAKENI CLEANING EXERCISE MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Residence in Makeni City over the weekend commended both Makeni City council and Bombali District Council for their giant steps taking in addressing waste management issues both in the city and the district.


In an exclusive interview with the Chief Administrative Officer of Makeni City Council Daniel Boima Kpukumu said Saturday’s 3rd August 2019 cleaning and planting of trees in the city was done in concert with three institutions namely Ministry of Agriculture, the Sierra Leone Military and the Makeni City Council with a clear focus of beautifying the fastest growing city to tackle global warming.

He disclosed that the whole ideas came out from her worship Mayor Sunkarie Kamara determination in the fight against the desert that is coming.

He therefore called on the youth including other stakeholders to give out their maximum support in achieving this desire goal.

On behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security David Sallu  stated that his ministry is determine to make sure that all over the city is planted with trees and that under his leadership as District Agriculture Officer Bombali district trees planting will not only be limited in the city but will cut across the entire District.


The Chief Administrative Officer of the Bombali District  Council, BockarieBournie reassured this medium about his council’s commitment in the fight against the emerging artificial desert in the district.

He noted that, his Council has put modalities in place to take advantage of the cleaning exercise to plant trees at the monumental ebola grave site at Rogbom Community in the Bombali District, Northern Sierra Leone including chiefdom headquarters as a way of beautifying the District.

He also called on residents of the district to protect these trees for they will help to play their parts in ending global warming in Bombali District.

The Resident Minister Hon Abu Abu Koroma was part of the cleaning exercisedto motivate the youth of Makeni City, Hon Abu Abu Koroma informed this medium that the government of President Bio is determine make sure that the country is hygiene free.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
