At Makeni University Campus SUG’s 2019 Pageant... Mr. and Miss. EBKUST Emerged

At this year’s Best of the Best Awards Ceremony, Beauty and Designing Contest show held on Wednesday 24th July, 2019, Isha Koroma (Ashanti) and Sulaiman Gbla (Sul-G) were successfully declared as Miss. and Mr. EBKUST-MUC 2019 Champions by the Chief Judge of the occasion John Koroma at the University’s Auditorium, with Amadu Jarawa and Samuella Rita Koroma as runners up of this year’s Designing and Beauty Contest.

Both Ashanti and Sul-G were declared champions at a well-attended edutainment and entertainment double packed event that created serious competition among them including five other female and male contestants namely: Samuella Rita Koroma, Lady Magdalene andAmadu Jarawa, Alfread A. Koroma, Hassan Alusine, allfrom different department and faculties of the university.

This year’s event was organized by an organizing committee that comprises of like minded Alumni of the college in collaboration with the 2018/2019 Student Union Government of the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology, Makeni University College.

To many attendees and from feedbacks coming from the public, thejust concluded event is one of the most successful social edutainment gathering so far in the history of Student Union Organized events, Awards were awarded to former and present Students who have contributed immensely to enhancing  Students Unionism and development in the college’s.

Some of the awardees includes; Mr. Amadu Koroma (Best Division One Student of the year), Mr. Alusine Rehme Wilson – (Best Philanthropist of the year), Mr. Santigie Kabba Kanu (Best Outgone Student), Mr. Morlai A. Gbla (Best Ministerial Spokesperson), Mr. AiahKondowa (Best Chairman), Mr. Hassan Mahid and many others were awarded for their outstanding efforts over the years in the college.
At the peak of the event the incumbent Student Union President Government Bernard James Kamara, his Vice President and entourage all outlined a number of achievements they have made so far as a SUG for the 2018/2019 academic year under the Liberation Camp ticket.

They also urged their fellow Students to continue to remain united and thus presented Alusine Kamara and Amadu Kamara as the transitional Aspirants for the Liberation camp that is ready to continue from where they as an incumbent SUG stopped, a presentation that was widely celebrated by attendees of the event.

The event also featured musical performances from top Artists in the North. The Microphone Honorable Augustine Jay Tee, Sam King, Sequence B, Lady Amish, Dash Kay, OYK, Brizzy Crown, Computer, the Talented Dancing Team (TDT) and many more.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson Residents of the Asker Amputee Camp in Makeni City, including various war victims, are rejoicing over the inauguration of the Makeni Medical Mission health facility, established by philanthropist, author, and pastor Mr. Bambay Sawaneh, alongside his partners in the United States. This newly launched medical facility, comprising 11 treatment rooms, was developed with the support of Southeastern Medical International (SMI) and the Concord Christian Church. Their mission is to deliver compassionate healthcare and a range of medical services to the people of Bombali District and surrounding areas, with a particular focus on war victims and vulnerable families living in the Asker Amputee Camp at Robureh. Sierra Leone, Two other Nations disqualified from AFCON 2024 U17 Qualifiers
