Combating Corona Virus, Pavi Fort Supports Bo District…

Pavi Fort-Sierra Leone, Chief Executive Officer, Alimou Barrie and his team were in Bo District on the 23rd June 2020 to give humanitarian support geared towards providing assistance to curtail the chain of transmission of the coronavirus in that part of the country. It was a continuation of Pavi Fort’s nation-wide donations of cash, food items and protective equipments targeting all the 16 districts in the country.

 

The CEO and team donated 120 bags of rice, 40 gallons of hand sanitizer, a 10 million Leones cheque, 5 million Leones cash, and 3,000 N95 face masks all totalling 120 million Leones to the BO DICOVERC during a well-attended ceremony that took place at the Bo District Council.

 

Handing over the donation to the Bo DICORVERC Coordinator, David Fortune, the Chief Executive Officer of Pavi Fort S/Leone, Alimou Barrie, intimated the gathering that he decided to join in the fight against COVID- 19 out of the passion to complement Government’s efforts in trying to curtail the spread of the virus.

 

He pointed out that he is supporting the Bo DICORVERC with 90 bags of rice, 40 gallons of hand sanitizer, 3,000 face masks and a 10 million Leones cheque to ease the burden on the Government in its strides to combat the virus in that part of the country.

 

Alimou Barrie also handed over 5 million Leones cash, and 30 bags of rice as social mobilization support for the chiefdoms within Bo district in order to enhance their interventions and awareness raising campaigns.

 

Dr. Ronald Marsh, the Bo District Medical Officer, spoke glowingly about the importance of the company's support to break the chain of transmission of the virus in the district. He said the support came at the right time as the cash and items donated are actually what they need to stop the spread of the disease in the district.

 

The Paramount Chief of Selengah Chiefdom in the Bo district, PC Desmond Mahayie Kargobai, the Coordinator of Bo DICORVERC David Fortune, and the Special Adviser to President Bio, Ambassador Umaru Burne Wurie spoke highly of the support from Alimu Barrie in the fight against COVID-19 in the country.

 

They praised and thanked him for his timely intervention stating that the gesture would ease the challenges they are facing at the moment.
