iBins (Trash bins made from waste tyres – Let us support Local Content and create jobs for our people)

This idea of this trash bins is created by eWomen Innovation Hub in a project funded by UNDP/GEF/SGP. It is therefore a made in Sierra Leone product.

It is the winner of the 2019 Social Innovation Competition hosted in America.

It is also winner of a GIZ Grant. For Sia, this bin is the solution to end littering in Sierra Leone. The yellow is for plastic waste and sky-blue is for non-plastic waste. With these bins in schools, mosques, churches, communities and the like backed by education seminars on littering, proper waste management practiced and basic hygiene practices, permaculture designs (sustainable gardens); all of us will succeed to inject a culture of hygiene and care for the earth into our people thus making us resilient as a nation.

Imagine how many jobs will be created and how clean our environment will look like if government, NGO and private sector embrace this bin. We are therefore encouraging the government and NGOs that have the mandate to fight against global pollution and poverty to buy our bins. Our bins are sold as a set (1 yellow and 1 sky-blue). A set without hand washing facility costs Le700,000.00 and one with hand washing facility costs Le900,000.00.

With large quantities purchased, discount will be given. Apart from the bins, iBins also makes nice flower pots and other nice products from waste tyres. A flower pot designed with your name or logo goes for Le50,000.00.
